Our Hitch Cargo Boxes are the ideal solution for people who need extra storage space for their gear and want to keep it secure and protected from the elements. A StowAway Cargo Box can be mounted on a steel frame, or in the bed of your pickup truck as a truck box. All StowAway boxes are molded from LLDPE, the same material used to mold white water kayaks, and are super impact resistant.

StowAway manufactures a full line of the most rugged hitch mounted frames on the market. All StowaAway frames are fabricated using thick wall steel tubing for maximum durability and stability. Finished with a black powdercoat to inhibit corrosion. Most of our hitch frames will fit either a 1.25" or 2" trailer receiver hitch, and all feature a 4 bolt mounting pattern to accommodate one of our StowAway carriers or one of your own carriers/racks

Hitch Cargo Carrier Frame Selection

Choose between a swingaway frame or four different fixed frames.

Swingaway frame: Our patented swingaway frame swings out to offer clear access to the rear of your vehicle. Works effectively with rear liftgates, single doors or dual doors and with almost all vehicle styles. Constructed with heavy steel tube with a built in six inch rise for ground clearance. Two sizes are available to fit either a 1.25" or 2" receiver hitch. Will clear most rear mounted spare tires or ladders.

Fixed frame: Our rugged fixed frame rises seven inches for ground clearance, and is available for either 1.25" or 2" hitch receivers. This is a good option if you do not require regular access to the rear of your vehicle.

Basic frame: Our most affordable frame, the Basic frame extends straight back (no rise) from your receiver to support our carrier. The Basic frame will accommodate most of our carriers or racks and is most suitable for vehicles with higher ground clearance. Offered for either 1.25" or 2" hitch receivers.
