StowAway Hitch Cargo Carriers

We offer three cargo boxes to choose from.

The MAX Cargo Box is our largest, most popular hitch mounted cargo carrier, with 16 cubic feet of storage space and 200 lbs of gear capacity. Equipped with taillights, a locking latch and a range of convenience features, the Max is suitable for Class III or IV 2" receiver hitches.

The Standard Cargo Box carries up to 12.5 cubic feet of storage and up to 200 lbs load capacity. Equipped with taillights, a locking latch and a range of convenience features, the Standard Carrier will fit either a 2" or 1.25" hitch receiver.

The Basic Cargo Box is our most affordable hitch carrier. It is identical to our Standard Cargo Box but equipped with reflectors rather than taillights. Offers 12.5 cubic feet of storage space and up to 200 lbs of load capacity. The Fixed no-rise frame will fit either 1.25" or 2" hitch receivers.

Hitch Cargo Carrier Frame Selection

Choose between a swingaway frame or four different fixed frames.

Swingaway frame: Our patented swingaway frame swings out to offer clear access to the rear of your vehicle. Works effectively with rear liftgates, single doors or dual doors and with almost all vehicle styles. Constructed with heavy steel tube with a built in six inch rise for ground clearance. Two sizes are available to fit either a 1.25" or 2" receiver hitch. Will clear most rear mounted spare tires or ladders.

Fixed frame: Our rugged fixed frame rises seven inches for ground clearance, and is available for either 1.25" or 2" hitch receivers. This is a good option if you do not require regular access to the rear of your vehicle.

Basic frame: Our most affordable frame, the Basic frame extends straight back (no rise) from your receiver to support our carrier. The Basic frame will accommodate most of our carriers or racks and is most suitable for vehicles with higher ground clearance. Offered for either 1.25" or 2" hitch receivers.
