Lid Stay for Cargo Box - Yes it works

    Rating:
    review-star review-star review-star review-star review-star
    Pros:
    • Makes the cargo box safer
    Cons:
    • Should come included with the cargo box
    • You will need to drill a hole in the box
I ordered this after the lid came crashing down on my wife. It makes the cargo box much safer especially in wind or when not on level ground. For as inexpensive as this is, it should be included in the cargo box purchase. I would have even gladly spent a few bucks more on the cargo box to eliminate having a hand smashed and have to go through the hassle of ordering this rod and installing it after the fact when it could have been part of the initial purchase.

    Lid Stay

    Pros:
    Cons:

The cargo box lid will generally stay up on its own, but if you need positive retention in brisk winds, it's needed. It works well for that, and is easy to deploy. The downside is that it is awkward to try to stow with the lid down if you try to pull the bottom end and leave the top in the lid - it really needs to be pulled out of both holes and tucked in the box or behind the lid rim. A bit pricey for what it is, a bent steel rod, but it's quick to use and works well.
